Thursday I learned the NES has been hacked. On Friday my workplace was all aflutter with talk. A co-worker has already added games to his, and as he has ALL the emulators, he offered to hack mine. Spent the morning creating a list and cleaning/rebuilding box-art for the menu screen. After all the dust had settled I ended up with 30 games on my list. I’ve decided to keep the 30 games it shipped with. A nice round 60 with no worries of running out of space for Save States.
Closing meme unnecessary (see last box art). Can’t wait until Tuesday!

Kind of funny to see Lunar Pool in there. I just bought a cheap copy of that game yesterday to put another Retro Pie install into. Out of curiosity, I played it on the system that I already built. Having way more games than you’ve ever even heard of (on mine) can be too much to look at some times.
Really interesting that the Classic was so easily hackable. I suspect that Nintendo will have an SNES classic running the same hardware for sale this next holiday season, too.

Lunar Pool - So simple, but a good game.
What you mention about too many games is why I limited my list to games I REALLY miss. Probably wouldn’t even play others anyway.
I agree that Nintendo will launch a SNES Classic. If they’ve learned anything from the test that was the NES Classic...release in October, hold back on supply throughout November (if they must), let the flood gates open the first week of December.

Was craving Ice Hockey, but all it took was one gameplay Youtube vid of Blades. YES!

That would be on my list but already on the system. ;-)x
Hard to choose a favorite between 2 and 3. Both so good. 1 is pretty good too, and brings originality and significance.

So much great classic stuff here...
TMNT is a classic.
R.C. Racing is so 80s, but people still race today with vastly superior vehicles. I own a bunch of the newer ones, but I don’t have a local track anymore. Super expensive hobby, but tons of fun. It was such a popular thing in the 80s that there were tracks everywhere and clearly it was so popular that it was worth making video games based on it.
I can’t believe Paperboy wasn’t part of the base load... I guess it wasn’t a Nintendo-owned game.
I’m also surprised that any Nintendo-brand games were not included. It seems like that would be an easy choice.

It holds up. It’s a legitimately fun game to play, fights and everything.

Yep, lots of unanswered questions regarding what was included. I bought a copy of the book that was released the same time as The Classic.
Even the book mentions Nintendo-brand games that weren’t included with the system. This is one reason I believe Nintendo may be planning (or was planning...) to release upgrade game packs.

I’ve dabbled with emulators over the last few years but this is one I haven’t touched since the original. I remember it as having good colorful gameplay and being very entertaining with 2 players.
